Paul Swift
COO

Meet Paul.

FLiP COO Paul Swift (aka Swifty) is the engine that makes FLiP tick.  His ninja skill is people and his passion is being a part of something that helps make their lives a little better.  He’s likely to be your first point of contact if you reach out to the FLiP team, and when he’s not here, you’re likely to find him coaching his son’s rugby team or bowl-riding (skateboarding) with other Dads around Wellington.

“My first experiences of work were the traditional milk boy and paper round in Wainui.  After that, it was working for commission only in a sports shop where I was hired to help sell skateboards because I was always hanging around there after school anyway.”  The entrepreneurial young Swifty quickly turned his hand to selling and repairing bikes as well.

From there, it didn't take long for Swifty to recognise his knack for connecting with people, a skill which has seen him through the rest of his career.  He applied his natural talents for marketing, sales and spatial design to managing shared and coworking spaces, and he continues to cultivate collaborative working environments in his role as FLiP’s COO.  “We work out of a shared space that I’ve helped to create because I really enjoy collaborating and learning from new people.  Having the diversity and access to talented humans doing great things around me is where I find the most joy in my work.”

Swifty is the self-described “connector of the pieces and the gatherer of information” who brings the spirit of learning and collaboration to the FLiP Homes whānau.  “I am the connection between the FLiP team, our clients and our partners.  I thrive in the big picture, but I love collaborating on the detail.”

When he’s not at work, Swifty enjoys a simple life with his wife, two kids and chocolate lab, Einstein, keeping active and holidaying together.  He looks forward to one day retiring in a FLiP of his own on Wahi Beach.
